
Joint Action on Climate Change Prevention by Planting 300 Trees at Kiara Payung Kehati Park with DLH West Java Province

Jakarta, 15 December 2022 - On December 12, PT Cikarang Listrindo Tbk (POWR) continued its commitment to the Biodiversity Park (Kehati) Kiara Payung Block 2 located in Sindangsari Village, Sukasari District, Sumedang Regency, West Java.
This commitment is implemented through the planting 30 species of productive and endemic plants of West Java Province such as saninten, gandaria, hantap, kacapi, teureup, and other endemic trees, totaling to 300 trees, to protect the biodiversity of flora and fauna in West Java.
The regular planting trees schedule is a concrete step of the Company to conserve the upstream Citarum river basin (or Daerah Aliran Sungai/DAS). In addition to the planting trees agenda, the Company altogether with the Environment Services (Dinas Lingkungan Hidup/DLH) West Java Province conducted also bird banding to increase the diversity of bird species in the Kehati Kiara Payung Block 2 Park area, with a total of 7 birds from 3 different species, among them, 1 is from protected species, namely the black hat gourd.
With the bird banding that was carried out this year, there are total 23 species of birds in the Kehati Park.
Taman Kehati Kiara Block 2 area of 2.54 hectares which was inaugurated on 30 May 2022, is part of the Company's efforts to control national and global climate change. With the spirit of "Powering Goodness" in the environmental area, the Company has a goal to contribute to the Indonesia's Nationally Determined Contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG's) No. 13 on Climate Action, and No. 15 to Life on Land.
As a continuation action toward the Taman Kehati Kiara Payung Block 2 which inauguration was carried out in the mid-2022, on 12 December, a planting event was held by the Company with DLH West Java Province, each represented by Mr. Jannes M. Sirait, as Station Manager-Jababeka Site PT Cikarang Listrindo Tbk together with Didi Aji Siddik, SSi, MT, as the Secretary of the West Java Province Environment Service, who carried out a symbolic planting of the 300 trees.
The Company's partnership with DLH West Java in the management of the Kehati Park will last for 5 years until 2026, including periodically planting 300 trees every year.
This KEHATI Park management partnership, in addition to helping protect the protection of biodiversity of flora and fauna in West Java, will also improve the socio-micro economy of the community around the KEHATI Park area through the Asset Based Community Development mentoring method. This mentoring is carried out in partnership with local communities such as competent breeder and farmer groups, where the Company will conduct technical training and operational assistance to improve the groups' welfare.
At the planting event, representatives of Sector 21 Citarum Harum Commander, Head of Sindangsari Village, Babinsa and Kamtibmas of Sindangsari Village, and Head of RW Kampung Cikeuyeup were also present. The Company is grateful for the joint support given from various parties and the Company's commitment to continue to make sustainable innovations (ESG) in every aspect of its business, as well as generate sustainable added value for stakeholders.
