Public News|June 30, 2023
On June 14, 2023, PT Cikarang Listrindo Tbk (IDX: POWR) ("the Company"), together with the Department of Transportation Bekasi Regency, inaugurated the Public Street Lighting (PJUM) along a 4 km stretch from Muara Bakti Village to Buni Bakti Village, which is part of the Babelan Sub-district, with a total installation of 99 light points.
The Company pioneered the installation of 99 lighting points, along 4 km, which forms part of the total of 490 lighting points along a 21 km route surrounding the Cikarang-Bekasi-Laut (CBL) river.
Prior to the presence of the PJUM, the mentioned route had no lighting facilities, making the area prone to accidents and criminal activities during the night.
The installation of PJUM by the Company was based on a survey on lighting needs, conducted by the Transportation Section of Bekasi Regency to the residents surrounding the CBL river area, including those in Muara Bakti Village and Buni Bakti Village.
With the spirit of "Light that Brings Goodness," the Company built these 99 lighting points for the benefit of the residents, providing comfort and safety for transportation at night along the route from Muara Bakti Village to Buni Bakti Village, which is part of the ourskirts of the CBL river.
During the inauguration event, Dr. H. Dani Ramdhan, MT, as the Acting Regent of Bekasi Regency, Mr. Henri Lincoln, ST, MM, as the Head of the Water Resources, Public Works, and Construction Agency, Mr. R. Yana Suyatna, S.IP, M.Si, as the Head of the Transportation Section, Mr. H. Rudi Khoirudin, SE, MM, as the Babelan Subdistrict Head, Mr. H. The government and the local community highly appreciate the Company's participation in the development of the Babelan area. This Public Street Lighting initiative aligns with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) number 11, which aims to create inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable cities and communities.
With adequate lighting, the safety and comfort of pedestrians and drivers can be ensured. It also supports the achievement of SDG number 16, which aims to promote peace, justice, and strong institutions. Through sufficient lighting, security forces can conduct patrols more effectively and maintain security in the area.
The Company, with the spirit of "Light that Brings Goodness", continues to fulfill its commitment to provide positive impacts to the community, especially the local community, through various environmental conservation activities, energy efficiency, waste management, job creation, community empowerment, and social assistance provided to the people.
