Mar 16, 2026 - SMKN 1 Babelan, located in Muara Bakti, Babelan District, Bekasi Regency, successfully earned the “Center of Excellence Vocational School” (SMK Pusat Keunggulan) recognition under the regular scheme after undergoing an educational mentoring program involving PT Cikarang Listrindo Tbk through the Babelan Co-Firing Power Plant (PLTU Co-Firing Babelan) and the Mitra Industri Mandiri Foundation.

The program is part of the company’s corporate social responsibility initiatives through Lintas Energi (Listrindo Cerdas—Enhancing the Competence of the Nation’s Youth).

Since its implementation from 2024 until now, the program has been directed at strengthening the quality of learning while also supporting the development of school facilities and infrastructure.

The recognition achieved by SMKN 1 Babelan reflects the importance of collaboration between schools and the industrial sector. In the context of vocational education, such partnerships are one way to ensure that graduates not only possess academic knowledge but also have the technical readiness and work ethic aligned with industry needs.

The Vice Principal for Public Relations and Industry Relations at SMKN 1 Babelan, Iyan Supriatna, S.Pd., stated that the mentoring program has helped the school develop graduates who are more job-ready.

“I am very proud and fully support the implementation of this program because it plays an important role in producing graduates who have strong technical competencies, solid work character, and readiness to work directly in the industrial sector. This program also strengthens the ‘link and match’ concept between vocational schools and industry, so graduates have higher competitiveness,” said Iyan in a press release received by Kompas.com on Tuesday (March 17, 2026).

Through this recognition, SMKN 1 Babelan has gained reinforcement in three main aspects: infrastructure, equipment, and learning.

The involvement of the Mitra Industri Mandiri Foundation, the Bekasi Regency Education Office, as well as elements of the business and industrial sectors (DUDI), also shows that improving the quality of vocational schools requires cross-sector support.

“We hope not only that the program targets are achieved, but we from PT Cikarang Listrindo also hope that industry players will come to SMKN 1 Babelan to see its potential, because the students of SMKN 1 Babelan have strong achievements,” said Rani Maheswari Miraza, Corporate Communication Manager of PT Cikarang Listrindo Tbk.

PT Cikarang Listrindo Tbk is a power generation company that has been operating since 1993 in Bekasi Regency.

Currently, the company manages three power plants: Jababeka Combined Cycle Power Plant (PLTGU Jababeka), MM2100 Combined Cycle Power Plant (PLTGU MM2100), and the Babelan Co-firing Steam Power Plant (PLTU Co-firing Babelan). The company is committed to continuously providing benefits to the community through four CSR pillars: Socio-Economic, Environment, Health, and Education.

Through its support for education, the company emphasizes the importance of the industry’s role in improving the quality of human resources starting from the school level.
